If you’ve just moved into a rental or want to rearrange furniture, you don’t need to be an architect to measure your space. Of course, if your landlord has provided you with the floor plan, please use it! But if not, here’s the simplest way to get it right — no complicated software, just a pencil/pen, paper, and a tape measure (at least 5 meters).
Get your tools before you start:

Take these quick steps to measure your room to draft your floor plan:

Step 1: Start with One Wall
Pick a corner.
Measure the length of the wall until the next corner.
Draw a line on paper and write the number above it.

Step 2: Go Around the Room
Keep moving clockwise (or counterclockwise, just stay consistent).
For each wall:
Draw a line connected to the previous one.
Write the measurement above it.
By the end, you’ll have the full outline of your room.

Step 3: Add Doors & Windows
On each wall, mark where the door or window starts (distance from the corner).
Note their width and height.

Step 4: Check the Height
Measure floor to ceiling in at least two spots.
Note sloped ceilings or beams separately.

Step 5: Take a video of the room
Once you’ve drawn your sketch with measurements, walk slowly around the room filming each wall.
Start at the entrance, go wall by wall, and make sure to show doors, windows, radiators, and obstacles.

Step 6: Share it with us and start your project
Take a 1-min survey and upload the results of your measurements.
We will contact you asap and start the project.
Measuring your room doesn’t have to be complicated. With just a few simple steps, you’ll have a clear sketch and video that make it easy to plan, furnish, and transform your space. And if you’d like expert help, share your measurements with us — we’ll turn them into a design you can use right away.
